  • Answer:

Start by signing up at a temp agency that will find you work based on your skills and you can meet many new people and network. http://www.spherion.ca/ Going to university is a bigger task because you'll need your prior education evaluated to ensure your English skills are enough to go and if you meet the high school requirements to enroll. (You probably do but you need the papers). A cheap place to shop is any mall that has "outlet stores". Outlet stores sell brand new brand name things but they weren't able to sell it in regular stores. Transportation is about $100/month for a TTC monthly pass http://www3.ttc.ca/. Housing is about $1000/month for a 1 bedroom apartment in a nice area. Bank fees are about $10/month depending on your plan. Try Bank of Montreal. They are known for being a bank that is welcoming to immigrants and offer special rates sometimes. http://bmo.com/ Canadians are very welcoming to immigrants who are educated, polite, willing to eperience Canadian culture and represent their home culture in a positive way!
