Going to Ontario of Toronto in Canada this Summer? Hints and tips?

  • Going to the province (Toronto) and specifically the city of (Ontario) in Canada this Summer? Hints and tips? I asked the Yahoo Community about it a while ago and I was told to get my Passport renewed first. So I've gotten my Passport renewed and waited 4 weeks for it and it has arrived! Now, does anyone else that has been to Canada have any other tips and hints for stuff I have to do to be prepared for this trip? Just a FYI, I live in the United States and plan to go to Canada for a week or two and return back to the United States. Example #1: Where would I trade my U.S. money for Canadian money? Example #2: What should I bring along as "PROOF" to prove I will come back to the United States. Will a two-way airplane ticket do the trick? Example #3: Bring any health records to pass the border? Example #4: Hints and tips for at the airport?

  • Answer:

Ontario is the province, Toronto is the city.. A return air ticket is excellent proof that you intend to go home again. Your bank is a good place to go to get Canadian money, but unless you live in a large city or near the border, they may not have any on hand. Call them ahead to check. There are currency exchanges in the airports, too, so you can change money before you fly out or when you arrive in Toronto airport. You do not need any health records, but be sure you have travel medical insurance for while you're in Canada. Get to the airport in plenty of time, ask the airline what they recommend for how far ahead of your flight time, and check the TSA(Transportation Security Administration website to make sure of what you may or may not bring in carry-on and checked luggage. Keep your ticket and passport handy, because you will have to keep showing them to get past checkpoints.

Hi 1.Most of the Canadian retailers accept us currency for purchases, but better if you do the exchange at the airport, there are currency exchange counters on YYZ airport. 2.You don't have to show any "Proof"in general, just be specific about the trip, like why are you visiting, for how long, where you staying, return ticket will defiantly help, But Canadian immigration is polite most of the times. 3.No you don't need to bring any health records. 4.Just give short and to the point answer and you are good:) You will love Canada.

first of all, toronto is a city in the province of ontario 1) you can go to a bank for currency exchanges, or there are special stores where you can get your currency exchanged. 2) why would you need proof? 3) no, you only need your passport and flight ticket to pass the border. 4) drink water before going to the airport - when they do the security checks, they don't let more than 30 ml of fluid pass
