What are some fun things to do in Toronto?

What are some cheap and romantic, or even just fun things, for couples in Toronto?

  • My boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Toronto and I was wondering if anyone knew of any romantic things to do. We are students and super poor so no fancy restaurants or anything like that. Something either free or cheap. ex) rooftop destinations to watch the sunset. Or even things that are not romantic and are good for a great couples night out such as pub suggestions. I don't want to waiver from the downtown area so it must be in this location. A little bit about us so you know what kind of things we like to do to better asses locations we will like: we are a little nerdy. We are music lovers, classic rock (pink floyd, zeppelin, rush, hendrix) bit of metal (blind guardian, gamma ray, helloween). We like to party and are into cannabis culture so I'm looking for more alternative suggestions. Any help would be wonderfully appreciated :)

    Toronto Island park is a nice place to spend the day, the ferry to it is right downtown. Not free, but on the cheap side as far as downtown goes. You'll want to bring some food along, and it has an amazing view of Toronto Harbour and the lake in general. A great market full of culture, cheap food from around the world, music, art and alternative lifestyle stuff is Kensington Market. http://www.kensington-market.ca . You would need to catch the subway/streetcars to reach it but definitely worth the trip. Its right behind china town also if you wanna shop on the cheap. Sundays its closed to cars, so its a great day to head out to it, me and my girlfriend go there often for a nice day out and never leave disappointed. Hope you enjoy your stay in Toronto!

Ignore Luthador_sucks. He seems to have a pickle up his backside about Canada. He's been trolling all the Canadian questions and posting the same illiterate rants about Canada and Canadians. Bit of a wanker. Anyhow, tons of great things to do in TO during the summer. If you want cheap and fun eats, go to Kensington Market and try some empanadas. HUGE and so good. Its also fun poking around Kensington and Chinatown. You can get some great souvenirs to take home. A trip across to the island is always fun. Depending on when you are coming, there will be some free movies after dark down at the waterfront. Fun to sit and watch, but bring a blanket to snuggle up in, just in case it stays chilly. One of the most romantic things? Again, a blanket to snuggle in, some munchies from Kengsington Market and the waterfront. Just find a great spot to sit and watch the sunset while at the waterfront.
