  • Answer:

Are you sure he received immigration status from Immigration Canada? Because they would not have approved unless he already had a job lined up in Canada before hand. There are some phony companies out there that will take your money and then send you phony immigration visas. If you are not sure check the site below. http://www.cic.gc.ca

I suspect he will have a problem practising because of the different system. He might need to do some exam or something.

I doubt he will find a job that easy here, Most foreign Doctors that they came here they complain about their luck of getting a job and they are told to go back to school to take some courses and take exams.

To practice medicine in Canada, a doctor must first be recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, or equivalent in each province. For foreign trained doctors this is more difficult because of language barriers and such - just because your brother can practice Obstetrics in Saudi Arabia doesn't mean his medical degree will even be recognized here, let alone getting a medical license. Only a limited number of foreign applicants are given medical licenses each year - applicants must pass an exam. Passing the exam does not guarantee a license. It's a lot easier for general tradespeople to integrate into Canadian life than highly educated doctors, engineers and other specialized professions. Those are all regulated by provincial bodies with very restrictive rules. The doctor/engineer driving taxis in downtown Toronto is an old cliche, and it's sad but true.
