Question on Hong Kong Air Mail to Toronto, Canada?

  • I ordered something off ebay, and the seller was shipping using HK air mail to Toronto, and I'd like to know, what organization actually delivers the package to me in Canada? I'm assuming HK air mail don't have their own mail delivery trucks in Canada like USPS or Canada Post does. Does HK air mail pay a organization to do the intra-canada delivery?

Hey Dave: There is some kind of intervational agreement between countries mail service. Once your item arrives in Canada, it's handled by customs (who decide if you must pay customs or duties fees) and then you are either contacted by customs or your item is delivered to you by Canada Post. It may take several days to clear customs, which can obviously add to your wait time. Hope that helps.
