What are the hot new tourist spots in Canada?

What are some really good places to visit in Toronto, Canada?

  • Me and my family have plans of visiting Canada on 20th August. It is my 2nd visit after 3 years, and this year i want to make it a more gratifying holiday, since last time everything was very new to me (i come from KSA) and i just marvelled at the splendid country. Anyways heres watchoo guys can do to help. Tell me the best places to visit, such as museums, parks, special tourist attractions etc. Also tell me about great picnic spots ( i know of the central island, its beautiful!). Oh and most importantly!! Surely u guys know of the Clifton Hill? That place is totally rocking!! The first time i visited the area, i was awestruck! There was an immense variety of choices and we all hardly had time to decide and visit places. We went to the horror house Screamers, shopped a little, and drove around most of the time. It was not until i came back that i learnt what that vast and lively road was. So can you temme the best places in Clifton Hill? Temme the best museums, famous shops, places everything!! Thirdly, i want to know what are the best type of souvenirs? Are there any shops i must visit? We might even go to a different city, such as Windsor etc. Any ideas? Thank you :) I appreciate you spending time on this. X)

For overall attractions: CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Casa Loma, Eaton Centre/Dundas Square, Toronto Zoo, Ontario Science Centre, Nathan Phillips Square (where the city hall is), Ontario Place, Queen's Park, Canada's Wonderland, Royal Ontario Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario (both recently renovated by world renowed architects Libeskind and Gehry respectively). You can visit the Bata Shoe museum as well if you're into that. Other not-so touristy spots are the Disterilly District, Chinatown on Spadina, Kensington Market and St. Lawrence Market. Also, be sure to check out Yorkville, which is famous for its high end stores and shopping. Clifton Hill is in Niagara Falls, but Yonge street is similar to it. It's got some nightclubs, theatres, and shopping. Check out Queen street for shopping as well. For parks, I'd suggest either the Toronto Islands or High Park. You could check out the Scarborough Bluffs as well in the east end. Be warned though, there is a city wide Toronto worker's strike so ferry service to the Island' have been temporarily suspended. Also, depending on when you're coming, Caribana is starting, the Canadian National Exhibition starts on the 21st of August, and the film festival is in September.

Clifton Hill is in Niagara Falls, not Toronto. For Toronto: CN Tower Hockey Hall of Fame Casa Loma ROM - Royal Ontario Museum How long are you going to be in Toronto? The CNE (aka The EX) is opening on the 21st of August. If you can, plan an entire day for the CNE and Ontario Place.
