What are some fun things to do in Toronto?

Going on to a road trip to Toronto, Canada. What are some fun, free things to do there?

  • I am going to help a friend with the drive and she is putting me up in a hotel. I have enough for food, but not much else. What are some fun and free things to do there? We'll be there 2 or 3 days and I'll have my 10 year old daughter with me. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Try going to High Park. Its just off of Bloor Street from High Park subway station. You can walk around the park and go in the pool. Sadly the waterslide is closed for maintenance:(... You can also go to Ashbridges Bay and walk along the board walk at Kew Beach. Very Beautiful. Sunnyside also has a pool as far as I know. Its nice to walk there too.

Riverdale Farm Nathan Philips Square in front of City Hall often has entertainment/markets depending on the day ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) if you're into that has free admission 90 minutes before closing time Harbourfront is free to walk around and kind of interesting Ferry boat to Centre Island is $6 adult $2 child (return) take a picnic - beach there too

If you don't mind walking, you can go just about anyplace and enjoy the sights. I recommend the waterfront. There is often outdoor music and plenty of sailbaots, shops to check out, and people watching. http://www.toronto.ca/harbourfront/spadina_quay_wet.htm Next - The ethnic neighborhoods, again great window shopping and interesting street markets. http://www.nationalgeographic.com/traveler/tw/0103/ethnic.html Here are some more ideas - http://www.toronto.ca/events/index.htm .

I'd recommend checking out Toronto's official website: http://www.toronto.ca/index.htm You could do something like take a walk through High Park (a huge and beautiful park located at 1873 Bloor St W). If you check out the website you might find some other free activities. Hope I helped at least a little! Unfortunately, most of the stuff around here requires money xD....but I'm sure you'll find something. There's usually some kind of event going on. Good luck!
