Do you ever get annoyed/puzzled by all the foreigner's Q's saying they want to move to Toronto (or Canada)?
-
I see the same questions several times a day from people from all over (USA, UK, Ireland, India, Saudi Arabia, Philippines) saying they want to move to either specifically Toronto or just to Canada, and the same answers ("you can't come here they don't give Visas that easily"----which truly puzzles me because everyone knows Canada has a wide open door policy for immigrants and there's more minorities than Whites in Canada, but I digress). So are the questions annoying after a while??? Do you get puzzled by why would people want to leave their otherwise wealthy/civilized countries for yours? For me I am puzzled that all these people don't want to stay put in their own country. (Why would someone from Saudi Arabia or EUA want with Canada? Both wealthy countries, super sunny and a complete culture and weather clash. If I belonged to such culture I'd stay put, but that's just me I guess, hence my puzzlement).

It's kind of annoying, because every case is different, and the information is available if people just typed a few words into Google. The site for Citizenship & Immigration Canada, which contains all the information you could want to know, is the first result on Google for "Canada immigration." I don't agree with the "wide open policy" though. My girlfriend from Russia has told me all about how difficult the immigration process is. It takes a lot of time and money. I'm not surprised people want to come to Canada. It's the same sort of idea as the "American dream." People think that just by moving to Canada, all their problems will be solved. I don't really mind...Canada's population needs to grow. We don't have enough babies, and we're underpopulated. If we want to be more of a world-player, we need more Canadians who are committed to this country. And yes, immigrants definitely make up the large majority of citizens, since everybody of European origins is an immigrant. The Native population of Canada is quite small now.

No, I don't get puzzled. People might have all kinds of reasons for wanting to leave one place or wanting to go to another place. The reasons are their business. Canada doesn't have more"minorities" than whites, and minority doesn't automatically mean someone of a different skin colour than the majority. A person from, oh, let's say, Iceland would be part of a minority group in Canada regardless of their skin colour, because there aren't many Icelandic people in Canada.

I just wanted to quote you from your last question and make sure I understand you correctly. "you see this last time I checked Mexico City was in Central America, not North America. But then again Americans think Australia is a continent LOL! " You certainly weren't implying that Mexico city isn't in North America were you?
