What's it like to live in a college campus?

Whats a good area in etobicoke to live in that's near humber college? (lake shore campus)?

  • Now, I've lived all over Toronto as a kid except for Etobicoke. My bf is about to go to Humber College next year and does anyone know of a good area thats near humber? thanks!

    I was a student at the Humber College Lakeshore campus. That is a safe area. It doens't look glamourous at all, but I have NEVER felt scared there. Most homes are young families, or senior citizens. Check out the Humber website for off campus housing, viewit.ca or craigslist.

If he is willing to take a bus I would suggest somewhere north of the Lakeshore around Islington or Royal York. It is close enough that it is a short distance to the campus. Personally I would not live close to the campus along the Lakeshore because it is not a great area. If he goes north (as far as Bloor St) he should find something nicer than what's available close to the college.

how far away from the lakeshore campus do they want to be? walking distance? 10 min bus ride? or further? in any case, check out www.rentersnews.ca (i think there may be a map on that website too)
