How to go from Islington Subway Station to UOIT?

  • How to go from Islington Subway Station to UOIT? I wouldn't mind taking the subway, transit, go bus, or go train. Please tell me the route with the fewest transfers. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Simple. This takes two trains and one bus, so it's just two transfers. - Pay your TTC fare. - Take the Bloor-Danforth line eastbound all the way to Kennedy Station. This takes around 50 minutes. - Go the uppermost level. - Then, take the Scarborough RT to Scarborough Centre. This takes around 10 minutes. - Go to the GO Bus Terminal, which is located at the eastern end of the platform. - Then, take the GO Bus Route 93 to Durham College/UOIT. Mind you that this bus route doesn't run during weekends and the summer season. The fare will be $8.50 one-way or $17.00 two-way. This takes around 40 minutes. - Get off at Durham College/UOIT. Total trip time takes 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes) + the waiting time.

That is a bit of a haul if you intend to do it daily, I am afraid. Islington to St. George (Subway) St. George to Union Station (Subway) Take GO train to Oshawa http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/en/PDF/Timetables/CurrentBoard/Table09.pdf At Oshawa GO station, take Oshawa transit bus http://www.durhamregiontransit.com/durham/index.aspx?CategoryID=83&lang=en-CA Your travel time adds up, I got it to over two hours in each direction.
