Is Quebec still part of Canada?

Is Quebec part of canada?

  • If so why does Quebec have its own yahoo answers?

  • Answer:

Yes, it's in Canada. They have their own yahoo answers because they are French Canadians, and speak French, whereas the rest of Canada speaks English. Also because they like to think of themselves as special and pretend that their French Canadian culture is threatened by the rest of Canada, which is total bull. That's just the way French people are though. ... Some French Canadians want to separate Quebec from Canada. They keep having referendums on it that never pass (but come close). The rest of Canada generally couldn't care less if they separated, because French Canadians always complain and act like they're hard done by, but get all this money and benefits from the Canadian government, kind of like a bribe to keep them quiet and from separating. I say either separate (and be a miserable economic failure), or stfu.

Hello, Yes, for the time being. They have a lot of autonomy within Canada. Since the official language and vast majority of the population are French speaking, this is likely why they have their own. Cheers, Michael Kelly

Yes, Quebec is part of Canada. It is also a majority French speaking province. I figure Yahoo thought it might be a good idea to give them their own answers for French. I assume most people in Quebec who speak English will post English question on the general Yahoo Canada site and those wanting French will use the Quebec site.

Canada's two official languages are English and French. Yahoo Canada therefore offers services in each. And Quebec is where the majority of Francophone Canadians live.

Yes, Because Canada is left out from all the excitement in the world so therefore yahoo decided to give it a little something.
