Is dog sledding hard?

Ski resorts/dog sledding near Ottawa and Toronto?

  • Is there any good ski resorts/dog sledding within 2 hours drive of Ottawa? And also spearately, within 2 hours of Toronto? Do these resorts have snow every year? thanks

    It's true. There is no snow left here. If you are here when there is snow, the Chateau Montebello is a nice upscale place to go. They have snowshoeing and dog sledding in the winter, they also have a curling rink and a tubing slope (with a tow rope). Excellent hotel, part of the Fairmont chain. Montebello is nice in the summer too. About 1 hour drive out of Ottawa on the Quebec side of the river.

Close to Ottawa, Mont Tremblant is the place to go for skiing and dog sledding. Even though it's about 170km from Ottawa, the ride there will take a bit more than 2 hours, because Rte.323 is twisty.

Closest, decent resort near Toronto is Blue Mountain. It is absolutely infamous in the Toronto area, as if you ask anyone where they ski-- this is it. Blue Mountain has snow every year, however it came in late this year because of the weird global warming weather we have been having. For more info: http://www.bluemountain.ca/
