British citizen visiting Canada and Niagara falls on the USA side?

Cool .. i live in ontario just visisted Niagara falls this summer... A very awesome place ata night on the canadian side with the clifton hill side.. The documents you will need to show at the rainbow bridge are your passports and not all the times but sometimes an ID/ you know just to be on the safe side.. yes you will have to declare what you bought in US ..remerb to keep your receipts with you .. you will need to show them your clothes and recipet .. just to mkae sure also take your car rental ofrms if you rent a car because they ask you who the car belong to and alll... the tax in US IS 4% WHILE IN CANADA IT IS 13%.. WHEN YOU ARE COMING BEACK TO cANADA HOWEVER YOU WILL NEED TO PAY $1.75 OR MORE CANDAIN TO ENTER BACK INTO CANADA .. THEY WILL CHECK YOUR CAR OR NOT ... IT DEPENDS WHEN THEY WANT TO.. But have a great trip and definetely visit clifton hills at night :)

In reference to declaring the clothes... what I would do is: Buy them. Rip off all the tags and throw away the bags. When you get to the border, declare nothing. Just say they were your clothing that you brought on your trip. It will be a lot easier than declaring.

You will need to show a passport, but presumably you'll already have it with you to get into Canada. It's possible they'll search your car. I've crossed the border many times and never had my car searched, but they do randomly select people for additional screening. I've often seen cars pulled over being searched. If this is a real concern, you might be better off finding a smaller border post to cross at, since they'll be a bit less strict. Since you hold a British passport, you shouldn't have to declare anything upon entering Canada. It might be good to follow the advice of the previous answerer, and take off all the tags, but I don't think it's really necessary. The duty taxes are only there for Canadians who have made purchases in the U.S., and are returning home. You might have to pay duties upon returning to the United Kingdom, but I don't know about British laws regarding this.
