  • Answer:

You do need a visa to visit Canada even if you are on L1 Visa in USA.But a lot of depends, of which nationality you are.If you are a passport holder of countries whose nationals are exempt , you might not need a visa. The list of countries whose nationals definitely need a visa are mentioned in this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.html If your country of citizenship does appear in this list then you definitely need a visa, even if you want to cross over the Peace Bridge to see Niagara Falls.

Have fun in Niagra Falls... and you may also consider driving down to Toronto, just an hour North

An L1 visa is not a green card, which means you are not a permanent U.S. resident. Only U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents are exempt from the visa requirement to enter Canada. You will need to get a temporary Canadian visa. You can apply ahead of time by going to a Canadian embassy/consulate near the U.S. city your in (most major U.S. cities have one), or you can go to the border and do it all there (which would take several hours).
