  • Answer:

Concordia is excellent for the fine arts program. It isn't the easiest to get into, but if you're talented, they'll see it.

Concordia has one of the most reputable fine arts programs in North America. It is not that hard to get into Art History, but can be harder to get into the studio arts. I suggest that you apply to Art History alone as a second option (art history and studio art being your first option). Once you in and have done a semester it is easier to switch majors. If you decide to go to Concordia I recommend taking one of Jean Belisle's classes (art history). Most of his courses involve tours around the city rather than being stuck in a class room.

Concordia is a great school, I am a graduate. It is one of the Canadian Universities with the fastest growing endowment and the arts program has benefitted greatly, there is even a a new building. Being a foreign student you will have no problems getting in if you have a good portfolio showing your body of work (don't send three drawings show a great body of work) also because as an International or "Foreign Student" you will be bringing a new flavor to the prgram which is always appreciated and of course the fact that your education will be more expensive than a native Canadian's always makes the school be more open to accepting you and your money. Apply it cannot hurt and the city is awesome and the art world here is flourishing and very avante garde, good luck

concordia is solid and they never reject students unless youre failing school, but you will need to submit a porfolio, although it is definitely worth applying to because they have a fair amount of international students there, and it is good in the arts, like last year they had 52 applicants and accepted 40, so you have a fair shot
