Federalist. When Brian Mulroney was in office (PC's then), he had made inroads with Quebec sovereigntists, which aided the PC's in winning. However, it is the BQ that is the sovereigntist/separatist party.

The only national sovereignist party is the Bloc Quebecois led by Gilles Duceppe. They are currently the third largest party at a national level holding 48 seats in Parliament (out of 308). Their provincial counterpart is the Parti Quebecois led by Pauline Marois. They are the official opposition party in Quebec holding 51 of 125 seats at the 'National Assembly'. Another provincial sovereignist party is Quebec Solidaire led by Françoise David and Amir Khadir. They hold 1 of 125 seats at the 'National Assembly'. It is a federalist party that is seen as right wing. In spite of this and that Quebec is mostly socialist the party did very well in the Quebec city region capturing all but one riding!
