Cheapest way of travel from Cornwall to Montreal?

  • Im going to go to St. Lawrence college but I would like to live Montreal, first of all I was wondering if I could live in Montreal with a student visa not from Quebec. Also, what is cheapest way of travel between Montreal and Cornwall, ON; I already have seen the prices of VIA Rail Canada but would like to know of other options.

For the travelling, you can use VIA Rail or Greyhound, or it would probably be better to get your own car. Carpool won't be a good option for you as people go in the opposite direction (they live in Cornwall and work in Montreal). In fact, it should be a lot cheaper if you lived in Cornwall, but went to Montreal on your spare time.

Cornwall is only 45 minutes to Montreal. Many from Cornwall work in Montreal and commute back and forth. your cheapest way to travel is to find a ride and share the gas cost.

Coach Canada/Megabus has cheap tickets if you purchase them in advance. But really, you will be spending more money living in Montreal and commuting to Cornwall. I also suggest living in Cornwall and visiting Montreal.

It will only be about two hours each way, with a few waits between trains or buses. You'll have to time the bus around rush hour or it will be three hours. Quebec is a province of Canada - live where you like.
