Mcdonalds age requirement?

Club Opera lenient on age requirement?

  • I am going to Montreal in two weeks (the wait is finally over!) and I really, really want to go to Club Opera. However, my friends and I are only 18. The age requirement according to some online sources says it is 20+. I am wondering if they are lenient at all? Say a few girls come and tell the bouncers they had no idea that that was the age limit? My friend got into Karma even though he does not reach the 21+ age requirement, but is 19. Any personal experiences with this? Thanks.

  • Answer:

From personal experience, I've been going to clubs downtown Montreal since I was 14, and rarely have had any problems. The trick is to show up early. Often the bouncer only comes on-duty later in the evening, say around 8:00pm, so if you show up a bit before that, wait for the bouncer to start working, and then go up to the bar and order, they'll assume you've just come in and have already been checked. I think it's rediculous that clubs like this have special age requirements, by the way. If you're 18 or over, it's your legal right to drink, and for these clubs to set higher age limits is age discrimination, and should be banned.

It's unlikely, they *do* enforce their 'rule'. Makes no sense, though. Like JJ said, the legal drinking age is 18+.
