  • Answer:

You can stay up to six months without a visa, providing you can prove financial resources to support yourself during that time. And you cannot work in Canada. If you want to work in Canada, then you MUST get a work visa. You cannot work on a visitor visa. Official Visa/Immigration website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ Good luck! My hubby is Canadian, I am American, we met online also, and are living in Canada. :)

you can stay as long as you like, I'm sure no Canadian authorities will be knocking down your boyfriends door looking for you, it is just Canada you know. By the way, what are you doing with a Canadian boyfriend anyway????

apply for a visitor visa to stay for up to a year, or a work visa (if you plan on getting a job). They aren't hard to get, and I think your BF can sponsor you. Or don't, and you just don't have to be here legally. Your choice.

According to the Canadian Immigration Office you are allowed to stay in Canada for 3 months without a visa, if you wish to stay longer you'll need a visitors visa which are good for an additional 3 months and must be applied for before you enter the country. Work visas are good for one year, but you have to have a job before you can apply for the visa. Side note; My wife could only stay in Canada for 3 months without a visa...and I'm Canadian.

as a tourist, you can stay up to 6 months without a visa.

Most visitors are not allowed to stay in Canada for more than six months. In some cases, visitors can stay longer. The date by which you must leave Canada is stamped in your passport. If you also have a study permit or a work permit, you can stay until the expiry date on the permit or visitor record. If you decide you want to stay longer, you can apply for an extension. You can also apply to change the conditions of your stay. This could include changing your visitor’s status, or applying for a permit to work while you are in Canada. This is a four-step process: Check the current application processing times Get an application form Complete the application form Mail the application form to CIC http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/faq/visiting-9.html
