Which country is more multicultural/multiracial - Singapore or Hong Kong?

Let us say u would like to work for about 6 or 7 months in a SE country. Would you work in Singapore or Hong Kong?

Answer:
Although I don't have specific data to back up my claim, I'd say that Singapore is definitely more multicultural than HK. It's a tiny country but has four official languages (English, Chinese, Malay, and Tamil) and most of its citizens are either immigrants or of foreign descent. While HK is also one of the more multicultural regions of China, it still is Chinese territory dominated by Chinese people. For work, I'd rather live in HK though. The British influence on the region makes it a friendlier and more livable place than Mainland China. Although Singapore has a reputation for excellence, I hesitate on the idea of living there because of the heavy social engineering policies there.

Singapore is definitely the more multi cultural and multi racial than the pre-dominantly Hong Kong. In Singapore you get to experience the uniqueness of the customs and cultures of the Chinese, Indians, Malays. If i were to choose between Singapore / Hong Kong to work, i would choose Hong Kong. This is because i come from Malaysia which is rather similar to Singapore, so Hong Kong would be a nice change. However if you like to experience new cultures , then Singapore might be a better choice for you. In reference to the answer of the previous answerer, Singapore is a very strict when it comes to enforcement of laws. In other South East Asian countries, one would probably be let go after committing a small offence like smoking in forbidden places or littering by giving a small bribe to the law enforcers but in Singapore, one wouldn't dare to do that because if one does that he would be arrested on the spot. As a result of strict enforcement of the laws, Singapore has become a very clean and safe place to leave.

Singapore is more multi-racial, but is a real dictatorship, where you are fined even if you don't wash your car or smoke in a boulevard. I live in HK: here things are more loose. Great place and atmosphere, though
