What do you think of tourism in India?

  • Many people including tourists have come to India these days and some materials(esp.buildings) or rituals are reprodused or staged for performance. For example, a puja in Varanasi is really decorated. what do you think about it?

    India is voted as the beast travel destination in the world. and why not , the amount of diversity in india, is diffcult to be found elsewhere. Nature has indeed bestowed India with great bounty and not to forget its diverse cultures. The pristine hills of Jammu & Kahmir & north East, to the Thar in Rajasthan, to the lush forests in Kerala, the sundarbans in West bengal and a great coastline with some of the best beaches like Kovalam, and Goa. Not only this, but our beautiful monuments and the each has its unique story, the Taj Mahal, Qutab Minar, Agra fort, Temples of Konark, Khajuraho, Elephanta caves, etc. etc. Everything good has some flaws as well. No doubts certain people tryin encash and commercially exploit certain things like the rituals you mentioned but still, the uniqueness of our land, its culture, beauty, languages, monuments and so much more, in non-comparable to any other country in this world. India is a gr8 tourist destination!!! Rightly said, incredible india!!!!

India the LAND OR WONDERS ......... transportation and the places of stay should be modernize in case if we want more foriegn exchnage .

India is a land blessed with an abundance of beautiful sights..Unfortunately this isnt backed up by sufficient infrastructure to support the tourists visiting the places. For instance,we do not have adequate clean toilets,coffee shops at most tourist places. We also need to have more govt registered shops selling souveniers instead of the touts everywhere. Another factor is accessibilty...A good tourist place shud be easily connected to major places for tourists to be able to visit it. Like there should be good buses or vans to take tourists to the place. None of this is in place. A pity really!! Indian tourism is all about money....taking the maximum money out of the tourists..giving minimum in return!! Really exploitative. Sorry if I offended your feelings..but this is my personal opinion and you need not agree with the same.

i feel it has improve a lot since India independent. the India government had did some good jobs in this fact..undoubtedly.

Taj Mahal is illuminated at night at a nearby river, and it's sooooooo dirty. I wish they can clean their country first before they invite visitors.
