Racism in Asia? Unwelcoming? Yet Asians cry racism in the U.S?

  • I lived in Asia last year (dont want to point fingers so I wont say the country) but anyways so I went to this one pub which had some Western people in it. We sat down, everything was good, they asked us to prepay our drinks (ok, fine, if everyone has to do it no big deal). After drinking our first drink we ordered another and saw all the Asian natives were payig AFTER they drank. WTF? So we sked the waiter what was up and he legit said "it's store policy Westerners have to pre-pay since many steal" ........... oh no you didnt boy!! we left right then and there. So now, here in the U.S there was a big scandal when another U.S girl was poking fun at some asian sterotypes on youtube (saying they talk loud on the phone etc, which I'm sorry I loved my time in Asia and I love Asians, but it is true .. a library is for studying not chatting to everyone. I studied at one of the biggest Uni's in the country and people did that constantly). Sort of a double standard now, isnt it?

    The fact is every culture has racism but that doesn't make it acceptable. We SHOULD get up in arms over racism like in the youtube video you are talking about. Just because no-one was upset about it happening where you were doesn't mean it's okay to do it back in your home country.

I find this funny. You called me racist and added a derogatory remark at me, and you also called me ignorant. But am I? Geographical separation has little to do with racism, it was simply part of the equation, do you not see that? Racism is the very fabric of nature, it is in essence a survival mechanism. This melting pot of multiculturalism is like putting two dominate scorpions in a jar and watching them fight it out. And this fight, this war is happening out in our streets where our children play together. Is that better or do you think maybe segregation would be? Think about it, there would be no racism or fighting if you simply didn't have the opportunity to be so following natures design. How many people remember their first justifiable" racist thought; don't say you never had one, don't insult us with a lie. Yeah extreme racism can be taught, it one of the many inconsistencies in the equation of life. But how do you explain a child's racism when it gets older; it's not about ignorance, he/she understands them but simply doesn't like their culture. Now how many of you thought the child I talked about was white? Did that make you racist.. Maybe you'll understand this.. A Black and White child are getting on the bus. One of these children said to the other "You can no longer sit next to me. My parents don't want me to be friends with you because you use bad language. The other children make fun of you because you're poor. And I think you smell funny." Who was the child that said these things in your mind to the other, the Black or the White child. I won't give you an answer, it is not necessary. Because what YOU thought is the answer.

It is due to cause and effect. If the westerners respect to the local and not act superior there is no cause for the local to look down on whites. You may be the better one out of the blue. The US is practising double standard internationally.

Maybe they had a case of foreigners running away quietly and not paying? Who knows. Some Asian countries have a pretty hefty excise duty on alcoholic beverages. If they had something like that happening, I could see why they took extra precautions. Ah well, just my opinion.
