Best time to travel to Bali?

  • Hi everyone, I'm from london and was wondering what the best time of year to travel to Bali is? I've read on various websites that September is a good time as it's slightly off peak season, but is before the rainy season starts. I was thinking of going on about the 10th Sept. but my friend told me that his friend went at that time and it rained non-stop for 10 days! Can anyone also recommend where the best place to stay in Bali is? We want to be in an accessible place, with lots to do in terms of sites, restaurants, bars, and of course, nice beaches. Any help is much appreciated

  • Answer:

September is actually the season of "european" tourists in BALI and actually its the best time. The weather is nice as its nearly the end of summer when rainy season will be starting in October eventhough recently it has been a strange kind of weather as it changes like sunny in the morning but raining in the afternoon all of sudden. Kuta and Legian are very convenince places to stay if you are into surfing and beaches. You can find almost any kind of hotels from budget to 5stars ones along Kuta and Legian area where the clubs, cafes, resto and bars are also there. Its very accesible as you can also walk down to the beach and very easy to get to shopping store etc. Hope this help.Should you have any question feel free to email me.

some says late june to july is the best wave for surfer... and if you a hardcore surfer you might consider plengkung beach at banyuwangi, east java.. of course you have to suffer the journey to go there coz it is a remote beach... but worth the wave.....

I would definitely say September, perhaps earlier in the month though, or even August as it's likely to be nice weather then. I think it is luck as to whether it will rain or not! As for the area, if you like a lively place then areas near to Denpasar are probably the best, that's where most of the resorts are.

Travel

I'd suggest travelling to Bali in July, as the days are at their sunniest and you're less likely to come across dreary days where all you can do is sit in your hotel room...As for accommodation, check out asiarooms.com for plenty of choices. Kuta if you're young and lively, but I'd even suggest staying at Sanur if you'd like a nice beach. It might be a little way away from the main drag, but in essence it's only a ten minute bemo ride to Kuta anyhow, so no big deal. I've heard Seminyak offers the best of both worlds, so you might consider staying there where there's bars and nightlife, but also a bit of quiet and some nice uncrowded beach. Of course Ubud's an absolute must. Make sure you plan to stay a few nights up there.
