How does someone in Vietnam prove they own a house there?
-
My aunt is trying to apply for a nonimmigrant visa in Vietnam to come to the US. She needs to prove that she owns a house in Vietnam, how does she go about doing it? What procedures does she need to do?

Answer:
If she owns a house she'll have a red book. They just want to see evidence that she has a reason to return to Vietnam when her visa expires. If you can afford it you might be able to post a bond as a guarantee. You can in Australia and its returned when they leave the country. Check it out. Good luck. P.S. Check out the web for a company here in Vietnam who handles visa applications and contact them, I'm only guessing. I assume she's got to go for an interview right? Then she needs to take everything that ties her to Vietnam. What they're looking for is a watertight guarantee that she's going to leave the country when her visa expires. They'll assess all that at the interview. If they suspect she's going to overstay her visa for any reason whatsoever, it won't matter how many books she's got, she won't get it. If she has borrowed money on her red book, as many do, then the bank has it and they won't give it to her. She just needs to be perfectly honest when she goes for the interview. Given that she's a mature age woman wanting to visit family I don't think you'll have any problems. Good luck.

Yup. The person before me is correct. My son tried to sponsor his mom in law and after all of the hoops we had to jump through the main reason was that she did not have her name on the property that she lived on with her family. It was in her father in law's name. So, Canada basically said that she was just trying to get into Canada by false means. Very shitty of them. We spent a lot of time and money to prove that we had the financial means to support her. On the other hand my sis in law here has her name on the family house and it would take the minimum amount of paperwork for her to visit Canada. Good Luck

Hi there! This is the prove that she has property in Vietnam and the chance to settle permanently in foreign country can be minimized. Some other case they also require bank account and other property and thus probability to return is on the highside. She can take the "red book" along with her and other property as strong evidence. She must bring also a so called " so ho khau" certificate of origin and identification card or her passport. Best wishes, Dzung http://www.discoveryindochina.com
