Can I travel from Thailand to Vietnam without enter Cambodia?

What's the best way to travel between Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand?

  • My girlfriend and I are planning to travel in Southeast Asia over 14 days in March. We are scheduled to fly in to Ho Chi Minh City on Day 1 and fly out of Bangkok on the morning of Day 14. Ideally, we would like to spend some days on a beach before flying out of Bangkok. In between Vietnam and Thailand, we would like to see Angor Wat in Cambodia but our itinerary is otherwise open. We were thinking of flying South to see some Thailand's famous islands but don't know if we really have enough time. Any advice on how we might structure out itinerary is much appreciated. Thanks!

If you are into saving money... the bus between all these places is cheap and relatively painless. but the trip from Saigon to PP with take six hours. the trip from PP to Siem Reap with take six hours. The trip from Siem Reap to Bk will take 7 hours and there goes three days of your holiday. Take the plane to Siem reap and do three days in Angkor. You can do it in a day but you will miss much and be worn out. Get a really good Tuk Tuk driver and make sure he can tell you everything about each temple. Do three half days. Miss all the Sunrise and sunset BS you usually can't see it anyway and there are tooo many people at those times. You really need a good guide or you will miss the little things that really make it special. Then fly into BK and spend a couple of days. Figure out what Thai Islands you want to visit and book your flights. the bus's are cheap and great but they are time consuming and "ITS A BUS FOR GODS SAKE" You asked for the "Best" way to travel and its not a bus. spend a full day getting to Siem Reap or be there in and hour and a half. Its only money! I mean how much is your time worth... especially on holiday? LOL. I use the buses myself but I have unlimited time. If you would like... email me and I will send you a Cambodia cheat sheet. its not commercial it just tells about places and things I have done in the last 5 years of 20 or thirty Cambo trips. arrives to SG, VN to stay for a few days, then take the 6hrs. bus ride to Phnom Penh. stay there as long as you like, then take a tour bus to North heading to Angkor Wat and stay there a few days. heading to Thailand via bus or fly is all depends on you...it very close by already. good luck and have a save trip. in Thailand there are still a lots of political problems there...most of my colleagues teaches English there went to Seoul, Korea and Japan.

What you mean you don't have enough time? 3 countries in 14 days. That gives you 4-5 days in each country. Thailand being the last since you're flying out of Bangkok.
