How do I obtain a work permit in Washington state?

Can you obtain a work permit in Vietnam with a misdemeanor?

  • I got a misdemeanor about 4 years ago and I'm actually currently working in Vietnam on a temporary work permit only good for 3 months. My question is: I'm currently trying to obtain a more permanent work visa and I'm wondering if my misdemeanor will hinder this process. Are they going to send me back to the states? Also, is the background check required for the work visa at the state level or national level? Thanks for your help. One more year and I can finally have the stupid thing expunged.

    Here is what you must including with your work permit application: -Work permit application (pick up in Ministry of Labor) -University Degree (B.A. or equivalent) -Health examination -Employment contract (Contract between you and your employer) -Criminal record from USA (You must get this done in USA) - (No criminal record check in Vietnam) All of the documents (in English) must stamp by US Embassy and then translated into Vietnamese before submitting the application. Have you got a temporary work permit only good for 3 months or have you got a 3 month visa. There is a big difference between the two,if its just a tourist visa then you will need all that Bob writes above and the record is the least of your problems.
