Who needs visa to Vietnam?

How likely is it that Thai airport staff will ask for my Vietnam visa as proof I'm going to Vietnam?

  • I'm a uk citizen travelling to Thailand in 3 days. I don't have a visa but as part of the visa exemption policy if I bring an e-ticket for a flight out of Thailand as proof I'm leaving the country within one month I should be allowed into Thailand. My flight out is from Bangkok to Vietnam and leaves 28 days after I arrive in Thailand. How likely is it that on arrival in Thailand they will ask for my Vietnam visa as well as my e-ticket? I don't have a visa for Vietnam, neither do I intend to use the ticket, I intend to leave Thailand overland within 30 days of arrival, the ticket I just bought to prove I'm leaving.

    Hi there! You must have valid visa to Vietnam prior to your departure to Vietnam or at least you must a have a so call - Vietnamese visa code approval without this document, you are refused by the air carrier - including the Thai Air way. To make the visa upon arrival you must have a visa approval form - from travel agency or you can get it done at Vietnamese Embassy to UK or to Thailand in Bangkok. If i were you i would get a visa for thailand (their are consulates in a lot of places Liverpool , Durham etc)at home, your eticket , they wont care about one way or the other and i believe currently the visa on arrival is only for 15days not thirty anymore, also i believe , the two month visa with an option to extend for thirty days is being given away free , but personally having lived in thailand for a year and a half, then cambodia for two and now Viet Nam , i wouldnt piss on the place if it was on fire(thailand), and would recommend that you use your ticket and come to Viet Nam and you can easily obtain a visa in bangkok for Viet Nam(probably for lessmoney), unless you are into drugs and ladies of the night in which case , yould be much better off in Phnom Penh. Have a nice day! which carries about as much weight as the sawadee khraps and kas you will hear
