Can I travel from Thailand to Vietnam without enter Cambodia?

Can I travel from Thailand to Vietnam (or viceversa) without enter Cambodia?

  • Hi, I am planning a trip to Thailand and Id like to enter Vietnam skipping Cambodia that I already saw in the past; Skipping Cambodia will also save me the 30$ (or 40$) entry visa; I'd need to know if from the south part of Thailand (ex Ko Chang island) going to Phu doc (the southern part of Vietnam) there is a direct boat, or if there is a bus for ex Saigon (Ho chi min) direct to Bangkok via Cambodia without pay the Cambodia fees; If anyone can please advice, thank you

  • Answer:

The flights on Air Asia are pretty cheap. Otherwise Laos is a possibility especially if you like crowded buses without bathroom stops and lots of strange videos/movies. I liked the short flight from HCMC to Bangkok. As far as going by water??? Seems like it would be an adventure but difficult. I don't think there is a bus that passes through Cambodia without fees.

seems no one has answered yet. my thoughts are a country isn't just the land mass but also its surrounding waters, therefore you will be entering cambodia illegally without a visa. of-course you can fly. or travel through Laos.
