What to do while stopping by Hong Kong?
-
I'm planning to travel to Vietnam is year and the plane will stop in Hong Kong for about 3 hours. I'm planning on doing a little sightseeing during this time, but does anyone have any idea how to do this? Should I rent a cab? What's neat to see?

Answer:
hmm, 3 hours: * take the Airport Express to Hong Kong (30 minutes) (around $20 USD for round-trip ticket?) * take a taxi from the Airport Express station in Hong Kong The Victoria Peak (15 minutes) (around $8 USD) (with more time you can take the Tram to the Peak; however, due to limited time, do take a taxi.) * walk around the Peak, taking photos of Hong Kong's spetacular view/harbor from the Peak, eat ice cream (1 hour) * take taxi back to Airport Express (15 minutes) * take Airport Express back to the airport (30 minutes) Done! With the airport express, you will see Kowloon, the Bay, and part of Hong Kong. With the taxi ride, you will see Hong Kong's busy street. With the Peak, you can claim that you have seen the best destination in Hong Kong. There you go! Have fun!

You are not going to get very far in 3 hours. The airport is kind of out of the way and you will not have time to do any go sightseeing. You are better off to spend a day there instead. That way you take a trip up to the Victoria peak (in Hong Kong Island) and have a view of the harbor at night.

3 hours is probably not enough time for you to do anything. You have to hope your flight gets into HK on time, as well, you may not be able to leave the airport.

Sorry, 3 hours is not enough to go back and forward from the airport to the city. but you can spend some time in the airport, there is some nice place to eat eg.Maxim a nice chinese restaurant and Carol's It's a fast food stand but very good and inexpensive. Shopping - there is a nice jewelery store call Chow Sun Sun Watson - a lot of little things Book Store, and some brand name store for Gucci, LV and so so 3 hours is not enough and don't forget a very famous chinese herb store " yu yen Sun" you will run out of $$$$$$ and have a lot of fun don't get out of the airport , just stay in and enjoy the food and shopping - bring your credit card duty free shop - wine and cigarette

I hope 3 hours is enough time for you because it isn't really long enough for sightseeing. I would look at the airport and see different stands and stores to buy items unknown to you as a souvenir or to try. If you plan to stop longer in Hong Kong you should go around and look for stores and events happening. -AQA

It takes you two hours to go & come back to airport from Hong Kong. Its not advisable to go out having a stop over of just three hours. Better to stay at airport and do some shopping! You need atleast a day to see any tourist spot in HK. http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/vguide/destination.html
