What is the average salary in Vietnam?

Hi I would like to know what is the salary range for Expat Architects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam?

  • Better yet what is the starting monthly salary gross and net an Expat Architect should be receiving? In consideration that one will be looking for a place to live and the usual daily need expenses.

    the salary for expat person to work for a foreigner companies are ranging from $1200-$1500 a month.this was the range of what i got paid for each month, until i got moved up..but if you are in managements of the higher end, then the ranging is a little bit higher..also, it is all depends upon of your field of work too..

Hi, I can't directly answer you're question but I won't try to sell you something like the leech above ;>(. There was a website called Vietnamworks.com that I believe was bought out by LeAssociates. They are a Viet job board and would have that kind of info. You can also try the American Chamber of Commerce in either HCMC or Ha Noi as well as local newspapers like Viet Nam News and the Asian Times. Just don't get your hopes up. Viet salaries are usually very low unless you are a Director/CEO of a large foreign based firm. The best paying jobs for American college grads is usually teaching English. On the bright side, the cost of living is very low once you learn to negotiate "Viet" style.

the salary are base on your experience with the certificates and also, if you might knows someones or somebody can bring you in for the expat job...otherwise, it is might hard to get in...
