  I visited Vietnam late last year, and had the time of my life. The country is incredibly beautiful and the people are incredibly friendly. It may seem ironic, but Vietnam is one of the safest places for Americans to visit. You won't find taliban insurgents trying to blow you up. More than half of the Vietnamese were born after the war, and are now pushing to establish good relations with America. Long story short, The Vietnamese really want more Americans to visit their country, which is not necessarily the case with other countries in the world. Travel through the country is incredibly cheap too. The cost of living is about 1/8th that in America, and your dollars will go a long way there. A very good seafood dinner for four would rarely cost more than $10. A decent hotel room could cost less than $10. Beer costs less than $1. A driver and a car for the day can cost as little as $30. There is so much to see in Vietnam. The North, South and Central areas will have plenty of things for you to see. I would especially tell you to look into visits through: Hanoi Hue Saigon Da Nang Hai Phoung Ha Long Bay Have fun! MD
