    The cheapest hospitals are the government run facilities. You don't say where you are so can't even try to help you find one. These government hospital are really not the best of choices if you can afford a private hospital I recommend it. For simple cold they can provide you with medicines. The cost to see a doctor in one of these facilities is about 50 to 100 baht with medicines costing about 100 to 200 baht depends on what the doctor order. These doctors are nothing more than pill pushers. Private hospitals the doctor may charge from 500 to 800 baht still cheaper than in the west and cost of medicines is where they made there money. Recommend you tell the doctor you will purchase your own medicine just give you the name, strength and dosage and buy at the local pharmacy near the hospital. I have been to both private and government run facilities.

None of those private hospitals anymore. They are there for business. Money talks! No money, No Honey! - Government hospitals are there for casual treatment, not for VIP treatment.

geez C - there must be more to it than this? - cheap is your only concern in medical care - - they will probably treat you for free in my village at the clinic. When my niece goes in with a high fever, they give her a shot and next day she is pretty well fine - pretty amazing - when my wife's mother went in with stomach problems, they told her "you are old, of course you have problems - go home" - she was 55 at the time - you get what you pay for - so, I hope cheap isn't your only criteria

Delauria is correct. The private hospitals once provided good care at reasonable prices, and seemed to place patient care as a relatively high priority. In the past few years, greed has replaced care as the primary objective.
