I'm 39 year old never married, currently working in Qatar. I'm planing to marry in Thailand with a Thai woman whom I love. I tried to get freedom to marry affirmation from Indian Embassy in Qatar but they just singed a ordinary letter declaring my single status then I have got the notarized affidavit from India sent by my sister? I'm going to Thailand directly from Qatar and I never plan to go to India for long time. Is that possible that i can get my marriage registered. Indian Embassy ask me to follow some silly and long procedure which I dont like. Is there any easy way?

The letter is good enough.. It means you are currently not married to anyone. Then, you can either go to Thai Embassy and register for marriage. The Embassy will then process your marriage certificate through the interior ministry in Thailand. But, the one the Embassy issues it for you is sufficiently enough stating that you're legally married. Then, you can get that translated and certified, then it can be used worldwide. On the other hand, your wife to be can do the same having Thai embassy issue similar letter and you can go to Indian Embassy and have them register you for marriage. All you can do both.

You want to get married in Thailand and register the marriage in India - if I am understanding this - and you can do this through your embassy - However, you seem to not like the paperwork - thats all - sounds to me like that "silly and long procedure" is the easy way - I think you should probably be happy that there is a way to do it - - if you are too lazy to do it on your own, I would bet that you could pay someone to do it for you, surely there must be legal services that will charge you to do it - if you are both cheap and lazy, then likely this will not be your first problem in life
