Is Bangkok or Phuket Island better for holidays? What beach on Phuket Island?

    it depends on your interest. bangkok offers the city atmosphere, shopping, clubbing, culture (palaces, temples, floating market, museums, food, etc). you will learn a lot about the country, history and way of live there. phuket is good for beach retreats. it offers nice beaches. my all time favourite is the katathani resort on kata beach. more romantic, quiet, private beach, clear waters and only 15 min on taxi to patong beach or phuket town. patong beach is where all the happenings are - it's good for first timers or those who enjoy good night life and busy areas coz patong doesnt seem to sleep at all.

When I stayed at Phuket I went to patong beach , which is nice , the water is clear and warm and you can even shop while resting on the beach( locals walk past and try to sell you stuff). If you go to patong beach you also have to try jet skiing. Para sailing is also fun, but it is very short and expensive.
