What is Phuket?

What do you think is the nicest resort in Phuket, Thailand for a honeymoon?

  • Hi, I am going to Phuket, Thailand with my Fiancee on our honeymoon and are trying to decide on a resort. We are looking for something very nice and are willing to splurge a bit since it is our honeymoon. We were thinking about doing the Club Med for a few days because it is the only inclusive resort. However, since it is very expensive we are only considering spending a few days there. Is the club med worth the extra money? We still need a resort to spend the rest of our time at in Phuket and are looking for some recommendations.....What do you think is the best resort in Phuket? Thanks!!!!

I stayed at the kata thani just out of phuket it is lovely and not to expensive. it was the most nicest placed i have stayed. it is only 100 baht to get in to the main street of phuket on tuk tuk or car there are about 4 restaurants on the street of the hotel. the hotel is on its own street and the hotel takes up the whole street. there is also a atm and a little corner shop and a couple of market shops. it is on the very front of the beach. there is two parts of the hotel one is a little older at the back and a little cheaper but a little more quiet and the front is right on the beach and a little newer. both very nice. there are three breakfast areas. and about 5 differnt cafe/ dinner places to eat at dinner lunch you name it. there are about 4 bars all over looking the beach great at sun set and happy hour asweel even thou they are cheap any way. the beach isnt private but there is hardley ever any one there. lovely area to walk around staff are great and you can get massages around the pool and manicure ect. there are about 4 pools and u can go to any of them. even if staying in the back u can still go to the front any time you want. there is a lovely thai restaurnt there the best i have ever been to and i have been to puket 5 times and thailand like 8 times so that is saying somehting. dont eat to much that dy cause u will get full a little expensive but totally worth every cents. you can even walk to kata and do shopping and stuff there only over the hill. THE BEST PLACE I HAVE STAYED IN..

Kind of hard without knowing what you want to do and/or your budget per night. The Club Med should provide a decent location for your honeymoon because it is easy to get into Patong from Kata & there is sufficient dining and nightlife in Kata and neighboring Karon. The southern part of the island is much busier, with more shopping and entertainment, while the northern part of the island has some great resorts that are a little more secluded. A lot of honeymooners stay in the Laguna area around Bang Tao Beach, which includes a group of popular hotel chains like the Sheraton and Dusit Thani, and the cool thing is that you can move between the resorts to eat at the variety of restaurants. Bang Tao is about 20-30 minutes from shopping in areas like Patong, so you wouldn't want to stay there if that is your primary focus. Bang Tao beach hotels and resorts: http://www.hoteltravel.com/thailand/phuket/bangtao_beach.html Mai Khao is also somewhat secluded, which means that you have a good 45 minute ride or so to get into main shopping areas, but the hotel properties there are excellent. The Marriott complex is huge & they've recently added a water park in the area at West Sands. Mai Khao hotels: http://www.hoteltravel.com/thailand/phuket/mai_khao_beach.html I've personally stayed at the following properties on Phuket & all were excellent: Sheraton Grande Laguna (great swimming pool; Bang Tao beach is very solid) JW Marriott Mai Khao (huge property; beach isn't great for swimming) Dusit Thani (very cool looking rooms; Bang Tao beach is very solid) Le Meridien Phuket (rooms recently remodeled; beach area is relatively private) Amari Coral, Patong (a three minute taxi ride into Patong; not the greatest amount of beach space) If you simply want to relax, try looking at resorts in Nai Yang or Nai Thon (not very touristy & very much kind of like how Thailand used to be).

I have recently got back from Katathani beach resort Phuket and it was amazing and right on the beach. Ask for the new renovated ocean view rooms as the sea view is breathtaking. Take a look at their website.

Stay at Kantary Bay in phuket, it is one of the best resort for honeymoon couples. A special offer is going on if you are traveling from UK - pay £609 for four days and stay for 7 days without paying a single penny after that amount. Enjoy.

Hi We stayed at the club med in november and while it is a nice hotel, it's really not worth the extra money, eating out in phuket is pretty cheap and i find it hard to recommend staying anywhere that is all inclusive. Depending on where you want to stay in phuket, and what your looking for i.e lively then head to patong they have some good resorts, have stayed at the seaview patong and its a nice hotel that is at the quiet end of the beach so you can have peace and quiet on the beach just 10 meters from the hotel, or head a 10 minute walk up the road into lively patong. The hotel is typical thai style and has two pools, if you tell them in advance it's your honeymoon then they will upgrade you to a swim up room and also provide wine and a fruit basket on arrival, The bath in these rooms was like a mini swimming pool lol. If your looking for something quieter and more secluded then i really dont recommend phuket. But try the krabi thai village in ao nang (it's 2 and a half hour drive from phuket airport) or wanna splurge....then rayavadee on railey (top 10 hotel in the world) transfers can cost anything from 1000 bht to 6000 bht depends on where you book it, or how well you can barter lol. Also, maybe consider phi phi cabana....Lovely hotel on phi phi island, its 1 hour from the airport to the ferry terminal in phuket city then 2 hours on a ferry to phi phi from there, costs 700 bht return for the ferry and 1000 baht return from the airport to phuket town. If you want peace and one of the best beaches, seriously good food then head to phi phi over phuket...Tip :- If you do go to phi phi, then spend a night camping on bamboo island, you will have the island to yourself (other than the national park guy) i know honeymoon and camping dont sound good together, but it will be a experience you will never forget, for me it is the most beautiful place i have ever been, and this is the only place where i have seen the waves glowing at night with plankton. longtail to bamboo for a return if you can barter well will be 1500 baht and camping is up to the ranger but inbetween 300 - 500 baht for one night and the national park fee. In anycase, have a wonderful honeymoon, and i wish you all the best in your future life together :)

I would choose Kata Beach. It is a beautiful area.
