Enjoying your self , going on trips , eating , drinking budget for 70 GBP - minimum you need 20 GBP a day - depends on your style. Its best to change your money in Thailand for better rate and every time you make a withdrawel from ATM its 3 GBP if you take out 500 Baht or 20000 Baht.. Also tell your Bank b4 you go that you are going to Thailand as if you do not they may put a block on your cards. Check out this site sawadee.com. Have a wonderful time in The Land of Smiles

Sawaadica (hello) !! Depending on whether you will be doing ''hotel meals or market food'' theres a big difference, some people could live 2 weeks out there on £100 some £1000 but i would say £500 is a decent amount, you might want to partake in a little shopping in some of the famous markets (which i can spend hours in) try to learn some of the local lingo and remember to barter good..the Thai's always love it when you make an effort. Alcohol is usually cheaper than in the UK and travel is very cheap, Enjoy Thailand !!

not to much. everythings a lot cheaper. however a lot of beers and things are almost normal uk prices. mind you if your on a shoe string you can get tsing tau which you can buy in the uk now for like £2.80 a pint only like 40p over there. £300 for the 2 weeks would be more than enough to have a nice holiday but in reality you could go with like £200 and still have a good holiday thats per person

Hi for your first trip @ £1000 between you , a beer cost from 45 baht so £1 -50baht , sandals cost from @ 199 baht for good pair , a thai meal cost from 20baht for street food we went last september for the seventh time and spent £900 , 2 years ago we spent £600

I think joshneil is about right. I could do it for about 100 GBF, but I don't drink that much, and I can speak some Thai so I can eat in local places where the food isn't as expensive If you take 300 GBF that will be more than enough, and you can be generous with your friends.
