  • Answer:

The Saen Saeb water taxis are still very much in operation and is the cheapest and fastest way to get to Bo Bae. Btw, they changed the name of the WTC years ago to Central World Plaza. You can take the Skytrain to Chatuchak, take the Sukhumvit Line to the last station at Mo Chit. You can also take the MRT in the Bang Sue direction and get out at the Kamphang Phet stop, there is an exit right into the market from the station. I think the mall you're referring to is Central City Bangna, but there is also a large indoor go-cart track inside the RCA complex. My favourite seafood restaurants are Somboon, Nathong and T Restaurant. You don't see many tourists at any of them, only the tourists who got a good recommendation. I ate at Nathong last night, had an unbelievable seafood meal and the bill for 14 of us was just over 5,000 Baht including drinks. Taking a taxi from the airport is fine, use the taxi stand outside the terminal and ignore any touts and the limo desk inside. The fare should be around 300-350 Baht or so including tollway fees and the 50 Baht airport surcharge to Ploenchit. Have fun.

Other answers

1- Still running. 2- You can take both, they both have a station there. 3- Just look if the restaurant is busy. If it is, it's a good restaurant. 4- Taxi meter is fine. I personally don't take the limo, I find it overdoing. Price should be about Bt. 300 max for the taxi, plus Bt. 75 for tolls. Don't forget a tip. I paid Bt. 1300 today, but that was for a different reason: I forgot my coat with my passport in it. (It was a 12 hour flight, and I was tired, okay?) The driver came back a few hours later and handed my jacket with everything in it. He had a bad night: waiting for 6 hours on the airport for a ride, he told me on the way home. So I gave him a big tip when he brought back my jacket. I think he deserved it!
