Is the food in Phuket as good as the food in Pattaya, Thailand?

yes, it is. but Phuket is more expensive in general. for that extra special night try one of these http://www.luxury-phuket.com/category/phuket-restaurants-bars/ the best (and yes most pricy on the island)

I find the food is good in both places, however generally speaking Phuket is more expensive compared to Pattaya. If staying in the Patong area, be sure to check out the food market opposite the boxing ring in the evenings, there is a wide choice of Thai dishes there, from 40 Baht upwards.
