  • Is Thailand a good place to stay? I'm 16 and I'm from Brazil... I'm going (or I think I am) on exchange to Thailand. I'd like to know if u guys know smt about Thailand, how is it there? The weather, people, houses and stuff... Please, help me, I have noooo idea =\ Actually, I should choose if I'd like to go to Thailand (and this is the only available option)... Should I choose stay there for 1 year? (considering I don't speak thai), and I'll be studying in the 12th grade. I have about a week to choose if i'd like to go or not. thankss :D *It's the Rotary Youth Exchange !

The weather would be Mild to Hot its perfectly livable and not too unbearable, THe people are all different from each other, however you will be more noticeable because you will obviously look ethnically different. SO far thailand Is not the worst or best place to stay as a foreigner however you should be treated warmly. its a beautiful country with lots of culture for you to learn about, staying there for one year will help you Learn the language more But it all really depends on the city you will be living in, the big cities are more used to foreigners and you will find more people who speak english.

like I always tell people that asked me about Thailand, it's a matter of perspective. If you go to a country with a very high hope, you will be disappointed. Nothing will live up your expectation. When you go to other countries, be open-minded and ready to experience new things. To me, I'd like to go to another countries to learn and experience different cultures and people. Why would I go across the world to experience the same ol' thing?

I don't know if you should choose to stay for a year in Thailand. I would suggest that you go there and decide...that if you have that option. You can only get the info from others...there are lots that hate Thailand...and lots that love Thailand. Go there and discover it yourself. I live in Argentina...had a chance to cross the border once to Brazil from Missiones. Great country. My opinion...our people are very much alike. There are similarities of our food and cultures. And if I could choose...I would love to be living in Brazil and not Argentina. Anyhow...I hope you like Thailand. Good Luck!
