What is Phuket?

GBpound so strong what should i take,US dollars or GBP,buy a suitin BKK or Phuket, Dive in Phuket dive skool ?

• what dive school would you suggest in Phuket ,what dive tours (daily)and expect to pay, my wife doesnt dive so snorkel same trip ?buying a suit any sugestions on where and cost/quality and expect to pay.What currency as USdollar 2.05 to GBP what do you think ? having three days in BKK and 5/6 days in Phuket and back to BKK hopefully Pattaya , in total 17 days open to all ideas and helpful tips , buying to take back, camera, dive watch , gold etc ideas please .

  Low denomination dollars always helpful for haggling . If you exchange sterling most Asian currencies float with dollar so if pound strong you generally get good exchange and will reap benefit anyway. Take a mix. Plus Credit card if possible. I always find that exchange rate generally more favourable than exchanging cash and more secure than carrying lots of money. (providing you take normal precautions) All your itinerary will be able to find tailor to make to measure and turn round in less than 24 hours. Thai silk shirts are amongst the best you will find in Asia. If flying to/from Bangkok airport Tax free very good value and saves haggling for expensive items such as dive watches camera etc. Quality should be assured which will not always be the case in Thailand. I travel in Asia lots, buy Tiger Balm. Most essential item in my first Aid Kit.I've done some diving but not in a long time. I have done some snorkeling in Thailand and very mixed. Sometimes heavy seas in Phuket can make water a bit cloudy near beaches so not the best area for snorkeling but worth putting mask and fins in luggage as you may be lucky with conditions. If you are taken out to dive sites your wife may be able to snorkel from boat.
