  • Hi, I am traveling to Phuket, Thailand for Christmas and New Years. If you have visited and can recommend great places for us to visit, please reply!! (were looking for great spas,beaches, temples, activities, and etc..) We will be staying around Surin Beach.

    Many many activities you can enjoy while stay here. All beaches around the island can be experience in different atmosphere. Patong's the most crowdest area with foriegners. Other beaches are nice as well with relax mode. Spa. There are many nice places around the island. Firstly, try it at your hotel. If you are staying in a nice hotel (3-5 stars), their spa would be up to standard & wonderful service especially in 5-star hotel. Even outside the hotel, you can enjoy many nice spas. If you drive yourself around the island, it would be more convenience to gain many activities. If not, just look around the area you pass by or ask the recommendation from your receptionist. Temples. Cannot miss the historical temple, Wat Chalong. Easily ask the people how to get there. Other Chinese temples are intersting as well. Easily go to town to see them. Water sport activities. Easily check it out at the beach. Just beware of the weather & safety from your agents & insurance. Shopping. Wow! a paradise island for shopper. Go to Central Phuket Festival in town or Jungceylon in Patong beach. Even the vendor on the streat, you are able to shop until you forget your purse. For first visit. Recommend to see Phuket Fantasea - a very nice Thai show in theme park & enjoy buffet dinner there. Easily to make the reservation & have roundtrip transportation from your hotel. Do you like lady man show. They are very beautiful. Try Simon Cabaret in Patong beach, also have roundtrip transportation. Not recommend to call outside taxi by yourself. They will charge you a huge price. The best is asking your hotel provide it. It safe for yourself as well. By the way, enjoy your holidays. oh! The most best part is there are plenty yummy cuisines around the island. I can recommend you more. Just feel free to drop me an e-mail.

I was just in Surin beach, passing through, in the foreign section, Laguna and resorts and such for 30 minutes so I don't know much. Man, it barely resembled Thailand to me. Get out and about a bit. Go to Krabi. I was with my 2 yr old niece and she is very cute and people were looking at her as if they never saw a Thai person. I could have posed for photos with her and got 100 baht a shot. Don't be afraid to wander, out of that area.. Have a good trip!
