What is Timeshare?

What is a Holiday Timeshare?

  • Okay so next year my Dad has given me a timeshare to go on holiday with. All I know is that the Hotel that we decide to pick out of the Catalogue is completely paid for, we just need to pay for the Flights. I just want to know how many Rooms and people can go on the Timeshare, because I'm looking at taking around 6 people with me? Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

  • Answer:

Each timeshare is an individual contract where the customer buys time in a certain location. Often this is cheaper than renting rooms in a hotel. Every contract is different, so to answer your question, you really need to ask your dad this. Also, depending on the contract, and since the place is owned by someone else, there MIGHT be a limit on the number of people that can use the timeshare location.

When you say catalogue do you mean RCI or II exchanges? If so you need to look on the website of which ever exchange company your Dad's week is deposited in and search the date and location you are wanting to go to. You need to look for a week unit that is at least a 2 bedroom and sleeps 6 people. Your Dad's week that is deposited into the exchange company has to be strong enough to pull a 2 bedroom. When you do make this exchange there will be an exchange fee charged so it is not completely free.
