Does my PC have a virus?

I downloaded 3/4 of Limewire,i read p2p,realising there may be virus in p2p,i stopped,now my PC very slow?

  • now my PC very slow,very very slow,running very slow very very slow , my PC takes a long time to respond to my mouse clicks, also my PC taking 20 minutes to start up n reboot wats wrong wtih my PC? this started when i downloaded 3/4 of Limewire b4 tat no problem,b4 tat no such problem now my PC very slow very very slow,n keeps churning for hours,CPU keeps churning even though i never click or type anything for 2 hours,its like someone outside is using my PC without my consent,wat shld i do? my PC Fujitsu,new PC,6 months old, intel pentium 4 windows xp home ed original,no sound cards,no graphics,512mb RAM, can it be virus,spyware,trojan or virus? y my PC runnuing very slowly,does not respond to my mouse clicks or takes a long time to respond to my mouse clicks n keyboard typings,n CPU seems to be churning all the time,running at full speed all the time even though i never type or click anything for 24hours,CPU is running FULL speed,FULL capacity all the time,non stop

    Please do not wire. I download songs etc. from Limewire. I am avoiding the problems stated by you. You should know the following or take action accordingly. 1. First have an effecting anti-virus programm installed in your computer. You can try Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security. 2. When you download Please ensure that Firewall protection is activated. This will take care of virus Problem. 3. When you download that too large volume of file naturally the PC will get slower and it is OK. 4. Do not run to many programme - at a time with lime wire you can run one or two programes only. 5. While in P2P programes you will get flashes for Spyware and Adware programes. NEVER OPT FOR IT AND DOWN LOAD THEM. They will spoil your computer. 6. Delete Unwanted and unused programes and files to make more space and memory. After all this if your PC is still slow you have to give it for formatting and reinstallation of the programes. Take care

Ok do not panic, i have a very easy solution. There is an awesome free anti-virus program. Go here and download it. www.avast.com .. go to downloads and download Avast v4.7 Home Edition its FREE.. do it ... it will determine if you have a virus automatically. Also what i would do is system restore its where you can take your computer back to an earlier time. Also another thing to do is COMPLETELY delete everything on your computer. If you purchased ur computer from a company(dell, gateway, compaq) watever it is,, go to their website and email them asking how to restore your computer back to how it was when you FIRST GOT IT. This will erase all files. If you are still having problems i would take ur computer to someone that could fix it. Like a technician in your area. I know Best Buy has GEEK SQUAD its where u take in your computer when you have problems and they will fix it. I hope i helped .. good luck!

Be reminded that you downloaded a very very large program. Anytime you download an application like that, you should always be running your Nortan Anti Virus or whatever virus scanner you have. With Limewire there are millions of spyware activity and several scans a day will detect them, spyware can cause your computer to be running slow, a virus is unlikely but possible, but you would of been notified by your virus scanner. Make sure you have enough memory on your computer for that program, if it is taking up alot of memory, once again, your computer needs to compinsate and will run alot slower than the previous time. Word of advice, Limewire from day one is watching every move on your computer, very bad program for P2P sharing. I fix these every single day from a sone or daughter downloading it. You can delete all the applications by add/remove programs as you might know. Also go into search and type in Limewire, any folders that come up, get rid of them ASAP. Then run a disk clean-up and a defragment. Also you might be running alot of programs at the same time, is so you need to go into your set up and remove them as they are not needed to be running in the backround.
