What would you like the weather to be like in Phuket?

What's the weather like in phuket?

  • i am going for a trip to phuket in 2 more weeks - any tips on how the weather is like these days? this info will help me a lot (preparing for the worst case scenario, if it's rainy season, then i might have to stay indoors the whole 03 days there).. thanks :)

  • Answer:

Mother nature doesn't answer questions here anymore. So you just have to have some luck when you get here. Don't follow those weather reports on Thailand because it says it's going to rain every day everywhere. What I'm trying to say is no one can tell you what is going to happen the week you are here. A monsoon can move in and destroy your holiday, or it can be just the typical short period of heavy rain in the afternoon, or no rain at all.

hot hot hot. very humid! the wet season will start to begin, but it doesnt mean its going to rain everyday. just check the average rainfall for the month your going in and the forecast

It is the wet season so rain is predicted every day. It is the tropics so the weather is either hot or warm (depending on where you are coming from). It rains then it clears off (usually) so you should get sunshine every day also. Now for the joke: if you do not eat too much food with iron, you should not rust. i lived there for a couple of months, its overall really nice, but its the weirdest thing when the monsoon hits, its fine for about 1 hour then out of no where you get the heaviest rain ever that lasts between 10 minutes to 2 days (very random) but then its rainy for about 2 weeks then it stops for some time then all the sudden it comes back with the same weird randomness, its nice because the rain cools everything off, the temperature is around 30-35c or around 80 degrees, its very humid (around 98%) but its not as bad as it seems, i love the Thai weather, always have a umbrella with you, and there is normally a Tesco lotus or big c for some shelter and shopping :), there's a place there that some people call "super cheap" which is really cool, its almost like a 3rd world version of a super shopping mall, they have everything from live animals to Cuban cigars if you look in the right places, oh yeah, and boxes of 10000 incense if you feel the need to worship lol, its a whole new world.

I've been in Patong for a week. It rains very hard for a short period every day. Then it rains lightly off and on throughout the day. But it's hot and you don't notice the rain after day 1. You just carry an umbrella like everyone else. You don't really stay indoors over the rain here. Rain Rain, sunshine, rain. It's pretty cool actually.
