• im a 22 year old male going backpacking through thailand for the first time in december. Im going for 4 weeks to phi phi, koh panahan, samui and laos. What sort of things should i bring with me? like essentilas. also what other cool things can i do there other then party? also on avg what would ur spending money a day be der? food, entertainment alcohol. accom is booked. so just also taxis

  Thailand is very tourist friendly, so most things you can buy in your home country will most likely be readily available though out Thailand - in many cases products will be cheaper if brought in Thailand than back home! Other than partying, almost all tourist destinations will have trips and excursions on offer - my advise would be to shop around for the best deal, rather than going with the first opportunity. If you book more than one trip/excursion through the same agent you might be able to get a discount - don't be afraid to ask! As for spending money, this really depends on your style and what exactly you plan to do, although things can be made pretty cheap if necessary in Thailand, its also easy to spend big Baht too - partying is cheap compared to western standards, but you may find this is one of the most expensive things you have to pay for. As a rough guide, 2-3,000 baht per day should be sufficient if your careful, otherwise 4-5,000+ Baht if you plan to party hard core every night as well as go on regular trips/excursions .
