Where can I find some maps?

Where can I find city maps for Pattaya, Thailand and Phnom Penh, Cambodia?

  • I have searched far and wide all over the internet, and NO ONE sells detailed maps of these cities. I will be traveling to these two cities next month and I dread the idea of not knowing where I am without a map. By the way, there is one manufacturer of maps that is the gold standard for the amount of street-by-street detail in their maps, but I forgot the name. A lot of hard-core backpackers buy these maps. Any idea?

I have never been in a foreign country that I couldn't locate a map. I have been to a lot of different countries too! Even at some airports you can get them for free! You can find them in tourist kiosks. You can find them in bookstores. You can often find them in travel guides. You may not have to buy a map for some places. Just Google up a map off the internet and print it. Here is 1 for Pattaya. In most places you will not need an entire country map, if so then you can also print one of them up. Many hotel links have maps for you to use to locate their hotels. They are good for other things near that hotel. http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/pattaya_map/pattaya_map_pattaya.html Here is a link to some maps on Bangkok and even other cities too. Just pull up the map you like and print it. But - no problem getting free maps in Bangkok! Many of the free magazines you see in hotels have city and country maps too! http://www.guidetothailand.com/maps-thailand/bangkok-rattanakosin.htm Millions and millions of tourists visit Thailand and Cambodia and probably never worry about maps at all! Lonely Planet Travel Guides have maps in them! For most of Thailand and Cambodia you will be able to get around even without a map if necessary. Especially for Thailand, streets have street signs in both English and Thai.
