Whats taipei nightlife like? And where is most of it situated(what districts)?

Most new and popular night clubs are located in the Xinyi district, which is at the east end of the city. This area is packed with college students and young adults day and night. Transportation isn't an issue so you do not need to stay in this district. There are underground and taxi cabs everywhere to get you around the city in no time (except for the rush hours though). This is a very safe neighbourhood though you should always exercise normal security precautions as you would when traveling in big cities. You will not be targeted just because you are foreigners, but you should know to stay out of troubles especially when you're drinking. Reportedly, foreigners are more easier to be confronted by the same, not local Taiwanese people. Languages should not be a problem. In fact, you may meet a lot of English-speaking people in the night club; howwever, make sure you write down the name of the place where you are going to in both English and Chinese (your hotel frontdesk can help you with that). This may come in handy when you take a taxi. There are other places with adult entertainment but they are not recommended because of security concerns.

hi I am from england also and i have lived in taiwan for a while... ive been to taiwan and the nightlife there is decent. however, you should be very careful of the violent taiwanese gangs. foreigners notorious for one thing so taiwanese gangs often look for trouble with us lot when theyve had a few. Its really sad to say but a mate of mine who came with me was even raped by these gangs who pick u out late at night on your own. I dont mean to put you off mate but its not as amazing as some people make out..taiwan is really americanised too, theres many foreign people there with little traditional culture left unlike many provinces of china which still keep their older cultures. Taiwanese usually know how to speak english but they do have allot of trouble understanding british accents. They get taught american all throuhgout their education and have american accents themselves.. so its okay language barrier.
