Cell phone service providers in Taiwan?

If I bought a US made cell phone and sold it to someone living in Taiwan, will the cell phone work on their service providers? Will they need to purchase a SIM card from Taiwan to make it work?

Answer:
GSM,SIM card,frequency 900Hz &1800Hz are using in Taiwan. If your cell phone contains any of this two frequency,it's working! But there are several service providers company in Taiwan,some of them are using 900Hz some using 1800Hz. So, have to choose what service provider company is suitable for your cell phone.
