Not sure about Firefox, but in IE, it is the browser itself that has the autofill function. If you want to reset it, got to something like (different versions of IE are slightly different) "Tools" -> "Internet Options" ->"Advanced" and hit the "Restore Defaults" button, then the "autorefill" should be unset. The funny thing is that next time you start your browser, all the initial checking by IE would happen again, such as IE asking you "do you want to send information cross the Internet", etc. It's just when it ask you whether you want to have "autorefill" enabled or not, remember to choose "no" this time around.
