Where is the most popular shopping paradise in Taiwan?

  Depends what you want, up-market or bargain hunting? Upmarket: 1. I suggest going to Zhong-Xiao Dong-lu (Zhong-Xiao East Road). There's lots of shopping to be done, it's quite a long street with shops on either side and around and even underneath! Lots of department stores - especially the 'New' Sogo department store (there are actually 3). 2. You can also go to the vast collection of department stores which surround 101. 101 has many many stores, whatever 101 doesn't have the surrounding 5 or 6 department stores will have - all expensive top designer brands. Bargain hunting: 1. Wufenpu, this is a must for girls who want to find fashionable goods which are very cheap, I know a lot of wetstern colleuges as well as Taiwanese friends who like to spend hours here getting lost in the hundreds of small cloth stores which are almost set up like a maze. (Don't bring a guy here). Open from 3pm til 11pm. 2. Taipei city mall (under Taipei Main station), again there are hundreds of stores in the underground streets - some really great bargains as well as nick nacks, cheap jewlerry, DVDs and so on - it's open regular hours. 3. Any night market, the better one's include Shi-Ling (the largest), Rao-He (lots of snacks), Tong-Hua (close to the 101). Of course there are many other places to see - if you after a certain type of product then just let us know. It often rains in Taiwan, just wear light weight clothing and have an umbrella handy in case!
